Apartment questions you should be asking
How long have you been in business?
We have been in the rental business for 42 years, arguably the longest running rental business in town.
How close to campus?
Nowadays "walking distance to campus" is pretty loosely thrown around. The distance of 1 miles or five miles to campus determines if you walk, bike or still need that car. Every year gas goes up and parking is getting harder to find. Save time and money everyday when you live adjacent to campus. 90% of our rentals are within a 1/4 mile of campus.
How do I get things repaired?
When something breaks in your apartment, you want to have someone local you can call. Our office and repair team are right here in downtown Castleton. When something breaks we're here to help with fast response times
How do I pay rent and get a receipt?

Do you have all utility included rentals?
It's hard to forecast what the heating and electrical costs are going to be with your rental, you have to budget for them and then get the money from roommates. With utility included rentals, it's an insurance plan that you'll have consistent monthly payments. Many of our units include heat, electric and some have all the utilities covered in rent.
How big is my apartment?
We have done our best to list sq footages with various units. Feel free to compare us, as you'll see, we have big apartments, plenty of space to spread out and enjoy some space outside dormitories
When was apartment updated and is it up to code?
- It's important that you are safe and comfortable in your apartment. Many apartments are afterthoughts to houses, never inspected by the fire marshal. It might be a pretty place but does it have the proper sized egress windows and hardwired smokes? Is the furnace serviced annually? Don't wait for an emergency to realize the apartment isn't up to code. We have rented apartments for 40 years. We know the codes, our apartments are VT Safety inspected, furnaces annually cleaned and inspected.
Where does my landlord live?
If your breaker trips in the night or you can't sleep because your neighbors are partying, you're going to want to talk to your landlord, not their email or business line. When they live in another state they don't see that the lawn needs cutting or the loose railing, or the mess left on the lawn. We live and work in Castleton. We give you our personal cell phone numbers. We're right here when you need us
